Kiwanis-Mary Hall Park is a hands-on learning park for the
children of Rapid City and the surrounding area. Children
routinely use the park as a place where lessons learned in books
and on chalkboards can come alive. It’s an unusual area inside
the bounds of Rapid City, a place where over 100 native and
exotic trees, shrubs, and grasses grow. Frogs, fish and turtles abound in the spring-fed
creek that pools, trickles and then joins Rapid Creek. Birds
flit along the deciduous trees that provide excellent nesting
sites and feeding areas. Warblers and chicadees can be heard
along the creek banks.
Directions: To find the park take Soo San Drive to South Street
(St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church is at the corner). Turn east on
South Street and drive one block to the park entrance, on your
left. Park along the street or in St. Andrew's parking lot and
walk down the path into the park.
